BMW Open: Garin advances to last eight, faces top seed Rune next

Chilean Cristian Garin moved into the quarter-finals of the BMW Open by defeating Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the No 6 seed, 6-3, 7-6 (3) at the MTTC Iphitos complex in Munich on Thursday afternoon.
Garin, ranked No 86, will face Dane Holger Rune, the top seed, next.
The Chilean won against German qualifier Marko Topo (6-4, 6-2) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Munich Open, Sonego, ranked No 45, edged out Frenchman Quentin Halys (3-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5).
