Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori upset Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka, the No 10 seed, 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the last 16 of the Citi Open at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington on Tuesday.
Ruusuvuori, ranked No 55, will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 5 seed, next.
