Dane Clara Tauson moved into the last 16 of the Ningbo Open by defeating Russian Elina Avanesyan 6-4, 6-1 on Monday.
Tauson, ranked No 76, will play the winner of the match between Russian wildcard Vera Zvonareva and No 7 seed Katie Boulter next.
