Romanian Sorana Cirstea, the No 3 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Ningbo Open by beating American Claire Liu 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 on Tuesday night.
Cirstea, ranked No 26, will face the winner of the match between Katerina Siniakova and American lucky loser Elizabeth Mandlik next.
