Korea Open: Birrell into second round

Australian Kimberly Birrell reached the second round of the Korea Open by winning against American qualifier Sachia Vickery 6-4, 6-4 at the Victoria Park Tennis Stadium in Hong Kong on Tuesday night.
Birrell, ranked No 102, will play the winner of the match between wildcard Dayeon Back and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the second seed, next.
