Belgium’s Greet Minnen, the top seed, advanced to the last eight of the Rouen Open by defeating Swiss Simona Waltert 6-2, 6-3 at Palais des sports de Rouen on Wednesday.
Minnen, ranked No 62 in the world, will face the winner of the match between Swiss Celine Naef and Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Rouen tournament, the Belgian won against Yuriko Miyazaki (6-4, 6-4).
Waltert, ranked No 178, won against French wildcard Chloe Paquet (6-0, 5-7, 6-2) earlier in the week.
