Tampico Open: Top seed Dolehide beats Rodriguez to reach quarter-finals
The American will face the winner of the match between Australian Ajla Tomljanovic and American Emina Bektas, the No 6 seed, in the next round

American Caroline Dolehide, the top seed, won against Mexican wildcard Victoria Rodriguez 7-6 (6), 0-6, 6-2 to advance to the last eight of the Tampico Open at the Centro Libanés Mexicano de Tampico on Thursday.
Dolehide, ranked No 43 in the world, will play the winner of the match between Australian Ajla Tomljanovic and American Emina Bektas, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous round, the American defeated Ashley Lahey (7-6 (6), 6-2) while Victoria Rodriguez beat Russian lucky loser Alina Zolotareva (6-3, 6-2).
