Hungarian Marton Fucsovics, the No 8 seed, beat Austrian Jurij Rodionov 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 to move into the last eight of the Sofia Open.
Fucsovics, ranked No 47, will face the winner of the match between Russian Pavel Kotov and Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 4 seed, next.
The Hungarian defeated French qualifier Terence Atmane (7-6 (4), 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round, Rodionov, ranked No 110, edged out American lucky loser Nicolas Moreno De Alboran (7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), 6-4).
