“She’s a potential to probably win another Slam” – Ruud on Raducanu
The 21-year-old Brit returns to the tour in Auckland after being sidelined since April due to injuries
Men’s world No 11 Casper Ruud will be among those keenly watching the Emma Raducanu return to the tour in a few weeks.
Raducanu has not played since April due to injuries but will make her return in Auckland in a few weeks. And Ruud, a former world No 2 from Norway, believes Raducanu has the potential to win another Grand Slam.
“On the women’s side, is Emma fit again? Is she going to play Australia? She’s a potential to probably win another Slam I think, for sure. If she’s doing a good pre-season,” Ruud told the Daily Express.
“[It’s] explosive. And I think also if you see her moving around on the court she’s really good. When we watched her win the US Open, that was something that stood out.”
After being sidelined by injuries since April, Raducanu is set to make her comeback in Auckland in the first week of the new season.
