WTA Auckland: Svitolina advances to semi-finals, meets Wang next

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the second seed, defeated No 5 seed Marie Bouzkova 6-0, 6-3 to advance to the last four of the Auckland Open at the ASB Tennis Arena on Friday.

Svitolina, ranked No 25, will play Chinese Xiyu Wang next.

The Ukrainian won against Dane wildcard Caroline Wozniacki (6-4, 6-3) and wildcard Emma Raducanu (6-7 (5), 7-6 (3), 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Auckland tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, Bouzkova, ranked No 36, edged out Pole Magdalena Frech (6-0, 3-6, 6-4) and won against American wildcard Amanda Anisimova (6-0, 6-1).
