Katerina Siniakova moved into the second round of the Upper Austria Ladies by edging out Croat Petra Martic, the No 8 seed, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 at the TipsArena in Linz.
Siniakova, ranked No 49, will play Frenchwoman Clara Burel next.
