Argentina Open: Italy’s Vavassori reaches quarter-finals
Andrea Vavassori beat Laslo Djere 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday evening and will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, and Argentinian qualifier Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the next round

Italian qualifier Andrea Vavassori won against Serb Laslo Djere, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 7-5 to move into the last 8 of the Argentina Open at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday evening.
Vavassori, ranked No 152, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, and Argentinian qualifier Camilo Ugo Carabelli next.
The Italian beat Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild (6-3, 6-1) in the previous round of the Buenos Aires Open.
During the first round of the Buenos Aires Open, Djere, ranked No 35, won against Croat wildcard Marin Čilić (4-6, 6-3, 6-0).
