Anca Todoni beat Elvina Kalieva 6-4, 6-2 and will face the winner of the match between Jaqueline Cristian and Eva Lys in the next round
Romanian Anca Todoni won against American Elvina Kalieva 6-4, 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Open delle Puglie on Wednesday.
Todoni, ranked No 179, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 3 seed, and German Eva Lys next.
In the previous round, the 19-year-old Romanian defeated Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-0).
Kalieva, ranked No 213, beat Romanian Irina Bara (4-6, 7-5, 6-2) in the previous round.
