Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 5 seed, moved into the second round of the Hamburg Open by winning against Spaniard Jaume Munar 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center.
Fils, ranked No 28, will face Serb Laslo Djere next.
