Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich edged out Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to advance to the final of the Hungarian Open at Római Tennis Academy in Budapest on Saturday.

Ahead of her win today, the Belarusian won against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the second seed (2-6, 6-2, 6-4), Russian Maria Timofeeva (6-3, 6-4) and Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens (6-4, 2-6, 6-4).
Schmiedlova, ranked No 79 in the world, defeated Russian Kamilla Rakhimova (3-6, 6-4, 6-0), Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 4 seed (2-6, 6-2, 6-2) and Russian Elina Avanesyan (2-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the tournament.
