Polish Open: Qualifier Parks reaches final

American qualifier Alycia Parks defeated Swiss Leonie Kung 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-2 to move into the final of the Polish Open on Friday afternoon.
Parks, ranked No 124, will play the winner of the match between Australian Maya Joint, the No 5 seed, and Pole Maja Chwalinska next.
The American won against Pole lucky loser Ania Hertel (6-3, 4-6, 6-1), Linda Klimovicova (6-2, 6-3) and Bulgarian Isabella Shinikova (7-5, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Kung, ranked No 287, won against Pole wildcard Weronika Ewald (6-4, 2-6, 6-2), Japanese Mai Hontama, the second seed (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) and Israeli qualifier Lina Glushko (6-1, 3-6, 6-3).
