European Open: Giron moves into quarter-finals
Marcos Giron beat Arthur Rinderknech 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) on Thursday afternoon and will play the winner of the match between Belgian Zizou Bergs and Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 4 seed, in the next round

American Marcos Giron, the No 8 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the European Open by defeating Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp on Thursday afternoon.
Giron, ranked No 47, will play the winner of the match between Belgian Zizou Bergs and Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the American won against Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (6-4, 6-1).
Rinderknech, ranked No 62, won against Belgian wildcard Alexander Blockx (6-3, 6-1) in the previous round of the Antwerp Open.
