American Marcos Giron moved into the second round of the Monte-Carlo Masters by winning against Canadian Denis Shapovalov 6-3, 7-6 (5) at Monte-Carlo Country Club on Monday.
Giron, ranked No 45, will face No 5 seed Jack Draper next.
