Resilient Medvedev wins another three-setter to reach last 16 in Monte-Carlo

Russian Daniil Medvedev showed his reslience yet again as he won a second consecutive three-setter to reach the last 16 of the Monte-Carlo Masters on Wednesday.
The No 9 seed, who needed two hours, 51 minutes to beat Karen Khachanov in round one, took just seven minutes less to get past Frenchman Alexandre Muller 7-6 (6), 5-7, 6-2.
Medvedev, ranked No 11, will play Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Russian edged out Karen Khachanov (7-5, 4-6, 6-4).
Muller, ranked No 39, won against Argentinian qualifier Camilo Ugo Carabelli (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Monte-Carlo tournament.
