Roland-Garros: Anisimova is the first to qualify for the third round

American Amanda Anisimova, the No 16 seed, advanced to the third round of Roland-Garros by defeating Swiss Viktorija Golubic 6-0, 6-2 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Wednesday.

Anisimova, ranked No 16, will face the winner of the match between Dane Clara Tauson, the No 22 seed, and Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus next.

Ahead of her victory, the American benefited from the abandonment of Serb qualifier Nina Stojanovic (6-3, 4-1).

Golubic, ranked No 78, edged out Petra Kvitova (3-6, 6-0, 6-4) in the previous round.
