Jakub Mensik, the 19-year-old Czech, and Francisco Cerundolo, the world No 24 from Argentina, signed up for UTS Hong Kong 2025 on Monday.

Founded by Patrick Mouratoglou in 2020, UTS will be in Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Arena on October 14-15, 2025, for its Asia debut.

Mensik and Cerundolo join the $1.1 million event’s already spectacular field, with world No 11 Andrey Rublev, world No 8 Alex de Minaur, former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios and Olympic silver medalist in doubles Zhang Zhizhen in the fray.

Mensik, ranked 18th in the world, announced himself on the ATP Tour earlier this year by defeating Novak Djokovic in the Miami Open final. Cerundolo, too, has produced impressive results this year as he returned to the top 20 in May.

UTS premiered in Europe five years ago and has since entertained tennis fans across North and South America. The fast-paced league is now ready to enchant Asian fans.

“UTS is the world’s newest, most exciting, innovative tennis league, with an entirely reimagined format,” says Patrick Mouratoglou. “We chose Hong Kong as our first Asia event venue because of its international reputation for hosting world-class events. This reputation has been further enhanced with the incredible new state-of-the-art venue at Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park, and the professional organisation brought by the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association.”

Two more players will be announced for the competition in due course. The tickets will go on sale on August 4.
