Shanghai Masters: Djokovic books spot in semi-finals
Novak Djokovic won against Zizou Bergs 6-3, 7-5 on Thursday and will play Monégasque qualifier Valentin Vacherot in the next round

Serb Novak Djokovic, the No 4 seed, won against Belgian Zizou Bergs 6-3, 7-5 to move into the last four of the Shanghai Masters at the Qi Zhong Tennis Center on Thursday.
Djokovic, ranked No 5, will play Monégasque qualifier Valentin Vacherot next.
“I was just trying to stay alive to be honest on the court”, Djokovic said, in reference to the the warm conditions. It was my first encounter with Bergs – he’s a great guy with a lot of firepower. At times I just tried to play an extra ball in the court and make him miss, which worked. The conditions these days are very challenging for all players.”
He acknowledged the toughness of the match and said, “I’m glad to overcome this hurdle.
