American Alex Michelsen, the No 6 seed, moved into the second round of the Almaty Open by winning against Kazakh wildcard Beibit Zhukayev 6-2, 6-3 at Almaty Arena on Wednesday night.
Michelsen, ranked No 36, will play Australian Aleksandar Vukic next.
