Tamara Korpatsch continued her clinical run through the Ostrava Open draw on Friday evening, securing her place in the final with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over the French ninth seed Diane Parry.

The German veteran, currently ranked No 124, relied on her superior indoor consistency to dismantle the 23-year-old Frenchwoman in one hour and 42 minutes of play. At 30 years old, Korpatsch used her experience to navigate the high-pressure moments of the semifinal, converting four of her seven break point opportunities to frustrate the world No 119.

The victory adds Parry to an impressive list of casualties for the German this week at the Ostravar Arena. To reach this stage, Korpatsch had already eliminated the American sixth seed Catherine McNally 6-4, 6-2 in the quarterfinals and dismantled the second seed from Colombia, Emiliana Arango, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round. Her campaign began with a solid 6-4, 6-4 win over local qualifier Anna Siskova. Throughout the week, the German has not dropped a single set.

Boulter in the final

Parry entered the match in formidable form, having swept aside Nikola Bartunkova 6-1, 6-3 in her quarterfinal and dominant wins over eighth seed Panna Udvardy 6-1, 6-2 and Oceane Dodin 6-1, 6-4. However, the Frenchwoman struggled to find the same rhythm against Korpatsch’s depth.

Korpatsch will now face Great Britain’s Katie Boulter in Saturday’s championship match. The 29-year-old Briton earned her spot by defeating American Katie Volynets 6-1, 6-3 in the earlier semifinal.

Reflecting on her performance and the upcoming final, Korpatsch remained focused on her game plan. “I am very happy with how I played today against a very tough opponent like Diane. My focus was to stay aggressive and move well on this court. I am looking forward to the final tomorrow against Katie, it will be another big challenge but I feel ready for it.”
