Today we celebrate the 20th birthday of Carlos Alcaraz with 20 stats that defined his teen years.

Carlos Alcaraz said it best on his birthday in Madrid. Asked if he felt like an adult now that he was 20, he said the following: “I would like to be a teenager a little bit more, you know, for the stats.”

- 9-3 in finals overall – nine titles is sixth most by a teenager, all-time.

- Won 16 of 25 matches against the ATP’s Top 10.
- Won his only match against a reigning world No 1, defeating Djokovic at Madrid in 2022.
- Reached 1st Grand Slam QF at 2021 US Open, becoming youngest men’s quarter-finalist at US Open since Koch, 18, in 1963 (Amateur Era) and at any Grand Slam since Chang, 18, at 1990 Roland Garros.
- On 21 February, became youngest player to break into Top 20 since Andrei Medvedev, 18, in 1993
- Youngest men’s champion in 20-year history of Mutua Madrid Open
- Youngest player to defeat Djokovic and Nadal and first to do so at same clay-court event (Madrid)
- On 25 April, became youngest player to break into Top 10 since Nadal, 18, on 25 April 2005
- Youngest and 2nd-youngest ATP 500 champion in 152-event series history (Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona)
- Youngest men’s champion and 1st Spanish men’s champion in 37-year history of Miami Open Third-youngest ATP Masters 1000 champion since series started in 1990 (Miami).
- Youngest player to complete Sunshine Double of men’s semi-finals (Indian Wells, Miami)
- At the US Open Alcaraz became the youngest US Open men’s singles champion since Pete Sampras in 1990 and the youngest Grand Slam men’s singles champion since Nadal in 2005.
- Became the youngest No.1 in history on September 12, 2022, at the age of 19 years and 214 days.
- Became the youngest year-end No.1 in year-end history
- Became the youngest player to complete the career sunshine double, winning both Indian Wells and Miami before turning 20.
- Became the youngest player to win Indian Wells since Boris Becker in 1987.
- On March 19, 2023, became the youngest player and first teenager to ever return to the No.1 ranking.
- Finishes his teenage years riding a 20-match winning streak on Spanish soil.
