Alert – Qatar Open: Khachanov wins the trophy

Russian Karen Khachanov, the second seed, won the Qatar Open trophy by beating Jakub Mensik 7-6 (12), 6-4 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Saturday evening.
Earlier in the tournament, Khachanov, ranked No 17, defeated Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (6-4, 7-5), Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (3-0 ret.) and Australian Alexei Popyrin (7-6 (12), 6-2).
Mensik, ranked No 116, beat Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 5 seed (7-6 (3), 6-4), Andy Murray (7-6 (6), 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4)), Russian Andrey Rublev, the top seed (6-4, 7-6 (6)) and French wildcard Gael Monfils (6-4, 1-6, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Doha tournament.
