Atlanta Open: Nakashima reaches quarter-finals
Brandon Nakashima won against John Millman 7-6 (8), 6-4 on Wednesday evening and will face the winner of the match between Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 4 seed, in the next round

American Brandon Nakashima, the No 8 seed, moved into the last eight of the Atlanta Open by winning against Australian John Millman 7-6 (8), 6-4 at the Atlantic Stadion on Wednesday evening.
The 20-year-old was a runner-up last year at Atlanta – he improves to 6-1 lifetime at the event with Wednesday’s victory. and 17-14 on the season.
Nakashima, ranked No 56, will play the winner of the match between Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 20-year-old American beat Australian Jordan Thompson (7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3).
Millman, ranked No 81, won against Alexei Popyrin (7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-3) in the previous round.
