Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 8 seed, won against Australian lucky loser James McCabe 6-2, 6-3 to reach the second round of the Adelaide Open at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Bublik, ranked No 31, will play the winner of the match between Australian wildcard Rinky Hijikata and Daniel Evans next.
