ATP Adelaide: Musetti races into last eight

Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 4 seed, defeated Australian Jordan Thompson 6-4, 6-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Adelaide Open at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Wednesday night.

After his victory, Musetti shared that he has two goals for 2024: get back into the top 20, and be a nice father. The 21-year-old is having his first child in two months’ time.

Musetti, ranked No 25, will play Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 8 seed, next.

Thompson, ranked No 47, won against Argentinian qualifier Facundo Diaz Acosta (6-2, 6-2) in the previous round of the Adelaide tournament.
