Germany’s Daniel Altmaier reached the second round of the Auckland Open by defeating American Marcos Giron 7-6 (5), 6-2 at the ASB Tennis Arena on Monday.
Altmaier, ranked No 56, will face No 4 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, of Canada, next.
