Everyone already knows the big news at the top of the rankings – Novak Djokovic is back at world No 1.

He moves up from third spot and shunts both Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev down.

But there’s plenty else going on further down – let’s take a look.

Nadal out of the top 100

We already knew it, but now it’s confirmed. Absent from the French Open, Rafael Nadal was unable to defend the 2,000 points he earned there last year, and has been pushed out of the top 100 for the first time in 20 years. The Spaniard, who is unlikely to play again this season, has dropped to 136th place.

Khachanov into Top 10

Karen Khachanov moves into the Top 10, up one place, after his run to the Roland-Garros quarter-finals, where he lost in four sets to Djokovic. He swaps places with Felix Auger-Aliassime – but remains two spots off his career high of world No 8, which he first achieved in July 2019.

Varillas up

Juan Pablo Varillas is up 33 places to world No 61 after getting to the Roland-Garros fourth round; Matteo Arnaldi, who reached the second round, is up 34 places to world No 72. But neither is the biggest climber in the Top 100 – that honour goes to Sebastian Ofner, up 37 places to world No 81, after making his way through qualifying to the French Open main draw, and then to the fourth round, losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Etcheverry climbs

Tomas Martin Etcheverry crowns his great fortnight with a 17-place leap up to world No 32 – the best ranking of his career so far. It’s his reward for reaching the Roland-Garros quarter-finals, where he fell to Alexander Zverev.

Karatsev back into Top 50

Aslan Karatsev returns to the Top 50, up 14 places – another player who came through qualifying at Roland-Garros and won a match in the main draw, eventually losing in the second round to Frances Tiafoe. His career high was world No 14, achieved last February.

Stan the Man

Wawrinka is moving slowly back up the rankings, this time jumping 11 places to world No 78. He won a gruelling first-round match in Paris against Albert Ramos-Vinolas, 7-6 (5), 6-4, 6-7 (2), 1-6, 6-4, and then fell in five equally tough sets to Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round. Incidentally, the Australian also gets a big rankings boost this week – up 20 places and back into the Top 100 at No 88.

Other notable movers:

No 41 – Lorenzo Sonego (+7)
No 45 – Dusan Lajovic (+8)
No 53 – Yannick Hanfmann (+12)
No 56 – Zhizhen Zhang (+15)
No 57 – Marcos Giron (+18)
No 59 – Daniel Altmaier (+20)
No 69 – Luca van Assche (+13)
No 83 – Daniel Elahi Galan (+8)
No 95 – Dominik Koepfer (+8)
