Barcelona Open: Nakashima through to last 16 as Rublev crashes out

American Brandon Nakashima beat Russian Andrey Rublev, the second seed, 6-4, 7-6 (6) to reach the last 16 of the Barcelona Open at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Tuesday afternoon.
Nakashima, ranked No 87, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 13 seed, and Dominican qualifier Nick Hardt next.
The 22-year-old American won against Daniel Evans (7-6 (5), 6-2) ahead of his victory.
Rublev also lost his opening match in Monte-Carlo and Miami.
He now has a losing streak on clay that stretches back to Hamburg last July.
