Belgrade Open: Djokovic into quarter-finals, defating Tabilo

Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, defeated Chilean Alejandro Tabilo 7-6 (3), 6-1 to advance to the last eight of the Belgrade Open at the Belgrade Arena on Tuesday evening.
It was Djokovic’s first appearance on the regular Tour since his loss in Shanghai semifinal against Valentin Vacherot.
Djokovic won 20 of the last 23 points to beat a player that had always defeated him, twice, on clay. He’s now at 225 quarterfinals at Tour level, one away from Nadal
Djokovic, ranked No 5, will face the winner of the match between American qualifier Eliot Spizzirri and Portuguese Nuno Borges, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Belgrade tournament, Tabilo, ranked No 89, edged out Australian Adam Walton (7-6 (7), 6-7 (6), 7-5).
