Belgrade Open: Safiullin downs Fognini in first round
Russian Roman Safiullin registered a straight-set win over Fabio Fognini on Tuesday. He’ll play Francisco Cerundolo in the second round in Belgrade

Russian Roman Safiullin advanced to the second round of the Belgrade Open by defeating Italian Fabio Fognini 6-3, 6-3 at the Belgrade Arena on Tuesday.
Safiullin, ranked No 60, will face No 3 seed Francisco Cerundolo next.
