Argentinian Francisco Comesana edged out Slovak qualifier Martin Klizan 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 to advance to the second round of the Bucharest Open at the Năstase & Marica Sports Club. on Tuesday.
Comesana, ranked No 64, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Yunchaokete Bu and Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 5 seed, next.
