Hungarian Marton Fucsovics edged out Argentinian Mariano Navone, the No 7 seed, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Bucharest Open at the Năstase & Marica Sports Club. on Thursday afternoon.
Fucsovics, ranked No 90, will face Australian Christopher O’Connell next.
In the previous round of the Bucharest tournament, the 33-year-old Hungarian beat Italian Luca Nardi (6-3, 6-1).
Navone, ranked No 61, won against Serb Laslo Djere (6-1, 4-6, 6-2) in the previous round of the Bucharest tournament.
