German Yannick Hanfmann defeated Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Chile Open at the Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago de Chile on Monday evening.
Hanfmann, ranked No 109, will play top seed Francisco Cerundolo next.
