Cincinnati Masters: Comesana saves three match points to defeat Opelka
Francisco Comesana edged out Reilly Opelka 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-5 on Tuesday

Argentinian Francisco Comesana will play his first Masters 1000 round of 16 at Cincinnati after edging out American Reilly Opelka 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-5.
Opelka led 4-1 in the third set but lost his serve twice, allowing the Argentinian to seize the opportunity. Serving at 4-5 in the decider, Comesana even saved three match points.
Despite firing 27 aces, Opelka struggled badly on his second serve, hitting 10 double faults and winning only 19 of 56 points when his first serve missed. The American called for the physio after being broken at 5-6 in the final set, reporting that he felt dizzy.
The match had a rain delay that caused a suspension in play while the deciding set was underway.
Comesana, ranked No. 71, will next face the winner of the match between Australian Alexei Popyrin, the No. 21 seed, and Russian Andrey Rublev, the No. 9 seed.
Opelka, ranked No. 73, missed the chance to reach his first Masters 1000 round of 16. Earlier in the tournament, he defeated Australian Alex de Minaur, the No. 6 seed (7-6 (6), 6-4), and Bolivian Hugo Dellien (7-5, 7-6 (3)).
