Citi Open: France’s Humbert moves into last 16, beats Kokkinakis

Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 13 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Citi Open by edging out Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-4 at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington on Wednesday evening.

Humbert, ranked No 36, will face the winner of the match between Japanese Yosuke Watanuki and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 3 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Washington D.C. tournament, Kokkinakis, ranked No 86, edged out Japanese Taro Daniel (2-6, 6-4, 6-4).
