Ymer makes Citi semi-finals, to face Kyrgios

Mikael Ymer defeated Sebastian Korda 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 on Saturday night and will face Australian Nick Kyrgios in the semi-finals after Kyrgios defeated Frances Tiafoe.

Swede Mikael Ymer won against American Sebastian Korda 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to move into the semi-finals of the Citi Open at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington on Saturday night.

Ymer, ranked No 115, will face Nick Kyrgios next. Kyrgios saved 5 match points before outlasting Frances Tiafoe.

Ymer beat Andy Murray (7-6 (8), 4-6, 6-1), Russian Aslan Karatsev, the No 15 seed (6-4, 3-6, 6-4) and Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-4) ahead of his victory.

In the previous rounds of the Citi Open, Washington D.C., Korda, ranked No 54, defeated Belarusian Ilya Ivashka (6-4, 7-6 (5)), Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 12 seed (6-1, 6-4) and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 5 seed (4-6, 6-1, 6-2).
