Australian Alexei Popyrin won against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the second round of the Croatia Open at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag.
Popyrin, ranked No 90, will play No 3 seed Sebastian Ofner next.
