Dubai Open: Rublev makes last four after Korda retires

Andrey Rublev, the second seed, reached the semi-finals of the Dubai Open when American Sebastian Korda retired with injury when trailing the Russian by a set and 4-3 down in the second.
Rublev, ranked No 5, led 6-4, 4-3 when Korda, ranked No 33, pulled out on Thursday at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre.
The Russian will play Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 7 seed, next.
Andrey Rublev edged out Chinese Zhizhen Zhang (6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-4) and beat French qualifier Arthur Cazaux (6-4, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Dubai tournament, the American beat Russian Pavel Kotov (6-0, 6-2) and Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (6-1, 6-0).
