Eastbourne Open: Mensik makes last eight
Jakub Mensik defeated Reilly Opelka 7-5, 6-3 on Wednesday and will face the winner of the match between Australian qualifier James Duckworth and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 6 seed, in the next round

No 3 seed Jakub Mensik beat American Reilly Opelka 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the last 8 of the Eastbourne Open at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club on Wednesday.
Mensik, ranked No 17, will face the winner of the match between Australian qualifier James Duckworth and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament, Opelka, ranked No 72, edged out qualifier George Loffhagen (7-6 (6), 3-6, 7-6 (1)).
