American Taylor Fritz, the No 3 seed, defeated Kazakh Alexander Bublik 6-3, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of the Rothesay International Eastbourne on Thursday afternoon.
Fritz, ranked No 14, will play the winner of the match between Australian Alex de Minaur, the No 6 seed, and American Tommy Paul next.
The American won against Brazilian qualifier Thiago Moura Monteiro (7-5, 6-3) in the previous round.
Earlier in the tournament, Bublik, ranked No 39, beat American Frances Tiafoe, the No 7 seed (5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-0) and Australian qualifier John Millman (6-4, 6-2).
