Daniil Medvedev won against Quentin Halys 6-2, 7-5 on Wednesday and will face the winner of the match between American Alex Michelsen and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the next round

Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, reached the last 8 of the Halle Open by winning against Frenchman Quentin Halys 6-2, 7-5 at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Wednesday afternoon.

Medvedev, ranked No 11, will play the winner of the match between American Alex Michelsen and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas next.

In the previous round of the Halle tournament, the Russian defeated German wildcard Daniel Altmaier (6-3, 6-3). Halys, ranked No 48, beat qualifier Benjamin Bonzi (6-4, 6-4) in the first round of the Halle tournament.
