Halle Open: Medvedev eases past Michelsen to reach semi-finals
Daniil Medvedev defeated Alex Michelsen 6-4, 6-3. He’ll play the winner of the match between Flavio Cobolli and Alexander Zverev in the next round

Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, won against American Alex Michelsen 6-4, 6-3 to move into the semi-finals of the Halle Open at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion.
Medvedev, ranked No 11, will play the winner of the match between Italian Flavio Cobolli and German Alexander Zverev, the second seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Russian beat German wildcard Daniel Altmaier (6-3, 6-3) and Frenchman Quentin Halys (6-2, 7-5).
Michelsen, ranked No 33, edged out Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 5 seed (2-6, 7-5, 6-4) and won against Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (7-6 (5), 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Halle tournament.
