Houston Open: Denolly reaches second round

French qualifier Corentin Denolly won against American Brandon Holt 7-6 (7), 7-6 (8) to reach the second round of the Houston Open at River Oaks Country Club on Monday.

Denolly, ranked No 328, will face the winner of the match between American Aleksandar Kovacevic and Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 7 seed, next.
