15 in a row!! Medvedev beats Nakashima in straight sets to reach Indian Wells third round

Russian Daniil Medvedev maybe seeded only fifth at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells but the former world No 1 is undoubtedly the man in form on the ATP Tour.

Having won three titles in a row – Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai – Medvedev won his 15th match in a row on Friday evening with a straight sets win over American Brandon Nakashima 6-4, 6-3 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

The Russian, who is ranked No 6 in the world currently, will face Belarusian Ilya Ivashka next. Medvedev has never advanced to the quarter-finals in Indian Wells, the only Masters Series event on hard courts where he yet to make the last eight at least once.
