The Italian is through to the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career, at the 2023 US Open. The 22-year-old scored wins over Jason Kubler and Arthur Fils before upsetting 16th seed Cameron Norrie in the third round. His reward is a showdown against world No 1 and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz.

In his final match, Arnaldi was defeated by Jiri Lehecka in straight sets to finish at the bottom of the Green Group.
