Machac moves into Mexico Open quarter-finals
Tomas Machac won against Daniel Altmaier 7-6 (3), 6-1 on Wednesday night and will face the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the top seed, and American qualifier Learner Tien in the next round

No 8 seed Tomas Machac won against German wildcard Daniel Altmaier 7-6 (3), 6-1 to reach the last eight of the Mexican Open at the Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco on Wednesday night.
Machac, ranked No 25, will face the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the top seed, and American qualifier Learner Tien next.
In the previous round of the Acapulco tournament, Tomas Machac defeated Jakub Mensik (6-4, 2-6, 6-3).
Altmaier, ranked No 76, won against Serb Miomir Kecmanovic (4-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round of the Acapulco tournament.
